ROSEMARY

Rosemary is a great multi-purpose incense. Often it is used to promote a restful nights sleep and youthful beauty. It’s also used for study to strengthen intellectual prowess. Rosemary has very protective properties as well, making it a go-to incense for for any purification or protection rituals. Try burning it before any magical work to clear the air of any negativity. After empowering the sprigs with your desired intent, just strip the leaves from the stems and sprinkle them over a charcoal block as needed. It is also said that if you breathe in the smoke of rosemary while asking a question, the answer will begin to reveal itself in your mind’s eye.

SAGE

Surprisingly enough, sage isn’t burned on it’s own as an incense that often. It is usually mixed with other herbs, but you still can use it on it’s own during rituals involving money, health, or raising spiritual power. After drying the leaves out and empowering them with your intent, you can fire it up in one of three ways. Either light the tips of the leaf and let it burn to completion, or ground the leaves up into a powder with a mortar and pestle and sprinkle over a charcoal as desired. You can also tie dried sage into a wand-sized bundle with a string for more mobility.

THYME

Dried thyme leaves are burned as an incense to increase or maintain good health. It has also been used since ancient times as a purification incense. Try burning this before any magical practices to cleanse your space of any negative energies.
